Patrick J. Adams: What Duchess Meghan has ‘gone through is insane’

I’ll never forget Patrick J. Adams’ amazing social media rant about his friend Meghan Markle, aka the Duchess of Sussex. In 2021, just after Prince Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview, Meghan’s friends came out en masse to defend Meghan and her character. Patrick and Meghan worked together closely for seven years on Suits and they became good friends. Back in 2021, Patrick went OFF on the toxicity of the Windsors and their media enablers, all in defense of Meghan. I kind of get the feeling that they’re still in contact but Patrick has always (wisely) claimed that they don’t talk much in recent years. Well, Patrick ended up talking about Meghan in a recent podcast interview:

A lot has changed for Meghan Markle since starring on Suits, and her costar Patrick J. Adams has taken notice. The Madison actor sat down with Amanda Hirsch on a new episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, where the conversation turned to their mutual acquaintance with the Duchess of Sussex. As seen in an exclusive clip shared with PEOPLE, Hirsch told Adams about how she got a handwritten note from Meghan after posting about the Duchess of Sussex on social media before With Love, Meghan aired.

“I haven’t met her,” Hirsch told her guest. “The way that happened was that her show was coming out, and I had said on my Instagram, where I say stupid s—, that I am worried for Meghan. ‘Cause you know, you’ve been protective over her in the past.”

Adams, 44, then replied, “What she’s gone through is insane,” to which Hirsch agreed.

Hirsch also complimented Adams’ Instagram bio, which has a reference to Meghan: “the other guy from that show that you’re watching on that app because that girl married that prince.”

“I’ve got to change that,” Adams said, to which Hirsch objected. “It’s the sort of thing that wherever Meghan is, if she’s ever read that, she’s going, ‘Patrick, give me a break’ ” he said, mockingly rolling his eyes. “I got a lot of eye rolls — that was a constant with Meghan.”

When asked if the Duchess of Sussex had ever said anything to Adams about his social media bio, he said, “No, never, but I’m sure I got an eye roll.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Adams revealed that — unlike Hirsch — he has not received any jam from Meghan’s As ever brand.

“I don’t have enough followers, I don’t think,” he quipped.

“No — first of all, you need to get on the list. Hello, everybody,” Hirsch said in response, before revealing that she hasn’t tasted it because she doesn’t want to open the jar.

Adams suggested they should have tried it together, noting, “It’s going to go bad.”

“Does it? It’s preserves — I’m preserving them,” Hirsch said with a laugh.

I’ve already seen some British coverage of his comments where they’re obviously trying to make it sound like Patrick is insulting Meghan or that he’s insinuating that Meghan’s eyerolls bullied him and made him cry. As you can see, he’s basically just saying that Meghan always thought he was a bit dorky and uncool, which is probably well-spotted by Meghan, lmao. I can’t believe she hasn’t sent him an As Ever gift box – he’s married to Troian Bellisario, a pretty well-known and well-connected actress and daughter of a big-time producer. Surely Troian would like some As Ever products??
