Paramount+ Orders Anne Hathaway True Crime TV Show, First Details

Paramount+ has officially granted a straight-to-series order to the upcoming true crime drama, which will be led by Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. Titled Fear Not, the six-part limited series will be based on Vanity Fair‘s 2023 article “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him,” written by Julie Miller. It is expected to make its debut in 2027.

What do we know about Anne Hathaway’s true crime series?

“The series tells the story of a prolific serial killer, Stephen Morin — accused of more crimes than Ted Bundy — and the unlikely bond he formed with Margy Palm (Hathaway), the last woman he ever kidnapped. Morin’s abduction of Palm, which started as a deadly captive situation, took an unlikely turn: one that included compassion, prayer, and profound courage,” reads the official synopsis. “Palm’s devotion to her faith and her insistence that Morin could be transformed became the impetus of a relationship that lasted long after Palm was returned to safety — until Morin received the death penalty.”

Fear Not will be written by Bash Doran (Outlaw King, Boardwalk Empire), with Hathaway serving as an executive producer. This marks the acclaimed actress’s first major TV project, after starring in 2022’s WeCrashed series. Executive producers are Steve Stark and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures, Helen Estabrook for Vanity Fair Studios, Adam Shulman and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures, Margy, Bart, and Noelle Palm.
