A tourist bus crash has left one person dead and at least 14 with injuries after the vehicle veered off a mountain road in the Canary Islands.

The crash happened near the municipality of San Sebastián de La Gomera on the island of La Gomera today during the final days of Easter half term.

A man was killed and at least 14 others were taken to the hospital on helicopters.

Three people suffered serious injuries, according to the Spanish daily El Diario.

Footage from the scene shows the tourist bus landed on its side several yards from the GM-2 road.

Several ambulances and medical staff from a nearby health centre were also deployed to the scene, according to 112 Canarias.
