Both the Japanese and global versions of the mobile game Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent are getting crossover events with Square Enix games, with the former getting FFVI characters and the latter finally experiencing the NieR Replicant event. The Japanese collaboration starts September 25, 2025, then ends on October 9, 2025. NetEase noted the English one kicked off on September 4, 2025, and that will last until October 2, 2025.
This is one of multiple NieR crossovers in Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, as an Automata one appeared ahead of Replicant. For this one, Nier, Kaine, and Emil are all present. Each of them appear as the versions of themselves from the second part of the game. There are no English trailers for the event, but you can see the Japanese ones from when it ran back in February 2024 below.
Here’s the video for Nier.
You can see Kaine in this one.
And Emil is here.
While we haven’t seen FFVI in the global version of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, it did already appear in the Japanese one ahead of this latest crossover. The first time around, Terra, Locke, and Edgar appeared. This time, Celes, Setzer, and Relm showed up. As with past collaborations, there is a trailer for each character.
We’ll start by looking at the Celes trailer.
Setzer’s is here:
And finally, this is what Relm looks like.
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is available on mobile devices worldwide, with a FFVI event in the Japanese version until October 9, 2025 and a NieR Replicant one in the global one until October 2, 2025.
