NVIDIA has released Broadcast version 2.3.0, transitioning the application from a live-streaming utility into a broader AI-driven media suite. The update introduces “File Processor Mode,” allowing creators to apply NVIDIA’s suite of audio and video enhancements to pre-recorded files rather than just live feeds, alongside new 4K upscaling and frame generation capabilities.

The update introduces beta versions of RTX Video Super Resolution and RTX Video Frame Generation. These features allow users to upscale video files up to 4K resolution and increase frame rates by 2x or 4x. In File Processor mode, a 30 FPS source can be boosted to 120 FPS. However, hardware requirements remain tiered: while RTX Video Super Resolution functions on GeForce RTX 3060 or higher GPUs, the new frame generation features are restricted to GeForce RTX 40-series and newer hardware.

The New File Processor and Workflow Limitations

The addition of File Processor Mode enables the application of Eye Contact, Background Removal, and Noise Removal to existing .mp4, .m4a, .mp3, and .wav files. This functionality is intended for post-production workflows, but it comes with specific technical constraints. The processor currently only supports H.264 (8-bit) and AAC codecs. Users working with modern formats like HEVC or AV1 must re-encode their footage to H.264 before the tool can process them.

NVIDIA has also confirmed that live processing and file processing are mutually exclusive. Users cannot run the Broadcast app’s live webcam effects while a file is being processed in the background.

AI Automation via MCP Server

In a move toward automated workflows, version 2.3.0 includes integration for Model Context Protocol (MCP). This allows external local AI agents to autonomously control the Broadcast app. Through an MCP server, these agents can change settings, toggle effects, or queue tasks within the File Processor without manual user intervention.

This update also prepares the software for the upcoming “RTX Spark” hardware ecosystem. Broadcast 2.3.0 includes native support for RTX Spark AI laptops, which are scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.

Audio and Driver Requirements

On the audio side, the update introduces “Studio Voice,” a set of four tuned microphone profiles: Default, Bright, Full, and Warm. These profiles are designed to give users more granular control over how AI-enhanced audio sounds, moving beyond simple background noise suppression to active vocal tonal shaping.
