The Japanese Nijisanji Vtuber Hyakumantenbara Salome is going on a long-term, indefinite hiatus. She made the announcement via a new broadcast streamed on her YouTube channel.

The Vtuber streamed the video with the title featuring an onomatopoeia for the sound of something disappearing and a thumbnail that reads “I am taking a (long-term) rest~~~”. Salome initially planned to return in July 2026, but she then changed it to an indefinite term.

Salome provided several reasons for taking a hiatus, such as her physical condition dropping and wanting to do things she has been unable to do, like going on trips. She also plans to do other kinds of work besides streaming and watch The Mandalorian drama show during the hiatus.

The aforementioned video is also available to view right below. Be advised that YouTube will apply its auto-dubbing feature for this Japanese stream if your site language is set to English.

Hyakumantenbara Salome made her debut on May 24, 2022. She notably broke the record of reaching 1 million subscribers in just around 13 days—faster than even Hololive’s Gawr Gura, who did it in 39 days.

Salome had also made her marks in the video game scene. An NPC in Honkai: Star Rail had her Japanese voiceover credited to Hyakumantenbara Salome. A bug in Platform 8 was also fixed after the Nijisanji Vtuber had discovered it.

Following this indefinite hiatus announcement, Hyakumantenbara Salome has yet to inform when she will return to her Vtuber streaming activities.
