Square Enix is about to make it easier to return to or start Final Fantasy XI again, as the FFXI Return Home to Vana’diel and Discount Campaign events will both be back next month. The former runs August 7-17, 2026, while the later lasts a bit longer and ends on August 31, 2026. This should also coincide with the monthly version update and some other seasonal and limited time in-game events.
Since this is a returning and recurring event, all of the previous FFXI Return Home to Vana’diel Campaign rules and details apply. If someone has a Square Enix account and an active service account that is “canceled” for 72 hours before the event kicks off on August 7, 2026 (so August 4, 2026), they can play for free temporarily. All characters can be used, but Mog Wardrobes can’t be. The Green Festival and Sunbreeze Festival events will both run for players during that time.
The FFXI Discount Campaign is a bit longer and covers the same three elements as past sales. If you would want absolutely everything, the Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition is temporarily $9.99. Normally, that costs $29.99. If you have the game, then you could pick up the Seekers of Adoulin expansion pack for $4.99, rather than $9.99. World Transfers are half-off too as part of it, so those will cost $9.
As for that August 2026 version update, it will specifically involve the FFXI Seekers of Adoulin and Ambuscade. In the case of the former, notorious monsters will be added to it. That’s part of many promised updates and additions to the MMORPG, following things like server replacements. As for the new Ambuscade fights, that’s the typical change that happens every month.
Final Fantasy XI is available for the PC, the Return Home to Vana’diel Campaign will be back again between August 7-17, 2026, and the FFXI Discount Campaign sale runs August 7-31, 2026.
