Two new concept art pictures of the Void, the darker alter ego of Lewis Pullman’s Sentry from the movie Thunderbolts*, have been released online. These designs seem even more menacing and horrifying than the Void in the finished movie. Thunderbolts*, which was released in May 2025, introduced both Sentry and the Void into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Unused concept art designs for Thunderbolts*’s the Void
A user named Belovabolts recently took to their X (formerly Twitter) account to share numerous concept art designs for the characters in Thunderbolts*, including the Void. The designs shared a new look at the characters, and the design for the Void seems to be quite different from the version that fans saw in the movie.
Belovabolts shared the image of Void with a blood red hue, instead of appearing all black, and wrote, “this void would have been BADASS.”
The user shared another image of the Void with his cape shaped like tentacles and stated, “like literally,,, insane.”
The Void is a darker alter-ego of Sentry played by Lewis Pullman in Thunderbolts* and was the main threat of the movie.
While speaking about portraying the three personalities, Bob, Sentry, and Void in the movie, Pullman told Marvel.com in May, “We wanted to make sure it wasn’t so compartmentalized, that it was always clear that it was one person. It was never this code-switching, or this kind of lily pad-hopping to a completely different person. They are all qualities and parts of one person.”
He added that playing Sentry and Void was more of “a physical journey than I thought it [would be] going into it.” The actor stated, “I really went into the psychology of [the character] at first. Then, I realized it was helpful to be able to use that physicality to indicate who’s at the wheel at what point.”
