After completing a full month of release in theaters worldwide, Project Hail Mary was re-released in prime IMAX venues for one week. The movie has also been given an extension to its theatrical run by Amazon, delaying its debut on the Prime Video streaming service and increasing its chances of breaking new box-office records. As things stand, the film is projected to pass the $300 million mark domestically and the $700 million mark worldwide by the end of its run, which would put it in the same bracket as iconic sci-fi hits such as Interstellar, Dune: Part Two, and The Martian. In its fifth weekend of release, Project Hail Mary closed the gap between itself and Ridley Scott's sci-fi blockbuster, which was also based on a bestselling novel by Andy Weir.
