A new Agatha Christie TV show is streaming today. The thriller from the acclaimed crime novelist features a huge Harry Potter star. The adaptation also introduces a new setting, unlike the book.

Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence is now available on BritBox in the US and Canada. It features the Harry Potter star Imelda Staunton as Aunt Ada. The thriller’s first two episodes premiered on September 15, 2026. The remaining four episodes will air every Tuesday. The show shifts its 20th-century backdrop to a modern, present-day setting.

The series is written by Phoebe Eclair-Powell. Fergus O’Brien directed the first four episodes, and Ellie Heydon helmed the final two. The Tommy & Tuppence contemporary adaptation also stars Antonia Thomas as Tuppence, Josh Dylan as Tommy, Nicholas Richardson as Julius, Charlie Condou as Albert, Callie Cooke as Detective Sergeant Draper, and Chizzy Akudolu as Detective Inspector Merriot.

Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence is set in modern-day London. The series follows Tommy, who encounters his college sweetheart and aspiring actress, Tuppence. The two are hurled into a murder investigation.

The show’s synopsis reads, “Actress Tuppence Cowley and crime novelist Tommy Beresford are a former couple who reunite at a wedding when a fellow guest is killed. Their attempts to prove the police have the wrong person in custody lead to them becoming amateur investigators, with the aid of Tommy’s aunt Ada, who used to run a detective agency.”

Tommy & Tuppence is based on Christie’s crime duo and the couple in the titular name. The crime author has written five core books, including a collection of short stories, based on the two characters. The ongoing BritBox series doesn’t follow a single book but instead draws from the entire collection for its adaptation.

Alongside the aforementioned main cast, the guest stars include Sebastian De Souza, Sean Pertwee, Saffron Burrows, Alex Jennings, Denise Black, and Alice Krige.
