Through no fault of his own, Zack Snyder has become one of the most polarizing filmmakers in the world in the last 10 years. Much of this is due to his fan base’s continued demand to “Restore the SnyderVerse,” by which they mean bringing back Henry Cavill to play Superman and continuing the story of the DCEU, which has been largely discarded. Snyder does have plenty of notable non-DCEU films under his belt, though, even if he’s best known for his work writing and directing superhero movies. Back in 2006, Snyder teamed up with Gerard Butler for the historical action epic, 300, which also stars Michael Fassbender and Lena Headey. Snyder’s first post-DC movie came back in 2021 with the Netflix original zombie thriller, Army of the Dead, and he returned to the streamer not long after for an ambitious new project that didn’t exactly pan out.
