A new historical drama from the creators of Peaky Blinders has already got TV fans and Netflix subscribers excited after a trailer drop.

House of Guinness, which comes from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, follows the story of the family behind the Guinness brewing company in the 19th century.

The first season, which begins on September 25, will have eight episodes in total, as fans wait to discover if a second season is in the works at Netflix.

Today, all it took was the release of an extended teaser trailer for Peaky Blinders fans to be salivating at the prospect of another Steven Knight creation.

The story will traverse both New York City and Ireland as the Guinness family recovers from the death of its patriarch, Benjamin Guinness, and attempts to adapt to the upcoming 20th century.

‘And of course our thoughts and prayers are with Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness’ four children,’ before the deceased father’s last will and testament are read out.

While two of the children are given full control of the Guinness brewery, two other children are cut out of the family business and left to lick their wounds.

The trailer then erupts into images of protests, violence, and burning effigies, as Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson promises that ‘the black flag of Guinness’ will be ‘planted on American soil’.

The series stars Paddington actor Louis Partridge as Anglo-Irish businessman Edward Guinness, who became the head of the Guinness family business and one of the richest men in Ireland.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage actor Anthony Boyle also appears as Arthur Guinness, the older brother of Patridge’s character Edward.

Sister to Edward and Arthur, Anne Lee Guinness – also known as Lady Plunkett by some – will be portrayed by Black Mirror actress Emily Fairn.

The fourth Guinness sibling at the centre of the story – Benjamin Jr. – will be played by Fionn O’Shea, who TV fans may recognise as Jamie from BBC series Normal People.

Jack Gleeson – who was spotted filming last year – will be playing Byron Hughes, while Happy Valley actor James Norton also stars as Sean Rafferty.

Parts of the series were filmed in Stockport, near Manchester, which was also a chosen location for key scenes in Peaky Blinders, with the town’s Plaza theatre being used as Bingley Hall – where Oswald Moseley speaks in season six.

Watch House of Guinness on Netflix on September 25.
