Actor-model and Bigg Boss contestant Nehal Chudasama has been getting a lot of backlash for accusing Amaal Mallik of inappropriately touching her during a task. For the unversed, there was a recent task in Bigg Boss where contestants had to erase the blackboard of the opponent team for a task. During the task, there was a lot of chaos, and in between that upheaval, Nehal accused the music composer of the same. The singer was visibly shocked because of the accusation and apologized endlessly, even joining his hands at one point. The house members soon took his stand and said that whatever happened was in the heat of the moment, and there was no ill intention that Amaal had. Soon, the internet followed, and people started criticizing Nehal for the same. Now, Nehal's team has released an official statement as to what might be the possible reason for her reacting that way.

What did her team say?

Nehal's team took to her Instagram stories and posted a clarification statement, stating the possible reason for a reaction like that.

The statement read, "During the task, there was a moment when things became a little physical between Nehal and Amaal. We want to stress that there was no intention from Nehal to blame or accuse anyone at that moment. What followed was triggered by something from her past trauma that she carries and that she does not always control. In that fraction of a second, those old wounds resurfaced, leading to a reaction."

The story continued, "When Amaal came forward to apologize, Nehal's words were always, 'It's not about you.' She wanted him to know that the reaction was not a reflection on him as a person but on those old, painful echoes that she is still learning to heal from. It was a weak moment. A human moment. But more than that, a reminder that trauma remains, even when one works hard to overcome it."

She has opened up publicly before about having survived assault and about how she believes in standing up for herself and for what is right. Her journey is not defined by the moments she is triggered but by the many moments she reaches for her own light anyway. What was Nehal's story?

In March 2025, Nehal had opened up about being assaulted by someone that she had known for the past 2 years. She revealed that the incident took place in February 2025 and that the person has been arrested by the Mumbai police.

She revealed that on February 16th, she was physically assaulted. She revealed the details about her arm and wrist being twisted and being slapped. She was then held and thrown, because of which she had bruises on her body. The actress was also threatened to get run over by her abuser's car.

She continued her story by saying that the "40-year-old super-built man" had damaged the front doors of her car and hurled abuses at the top of his lungs at her. She also revealed that she had known the man for 2 years.

"I was being stalked in public places & mentally tortured in innumerable ways over the past few months. My stern but polite expression to stop doing this provoked the guy to verbally abuse & physically assault me like a monster," she said.

Her team referred to this incident, describing it as a potential reason as to why Nehal reacted the way she did. Her team made it clear that Nehal did not mean to accuse anyone and just had an involuntary reaction.
