Without the "Netflix Effect," Breaking Bad wouldn't have become the show that it is. It was only after the first few seasons of the show became available on the streamer that mainstream audiences discovered it. AMC made the astute decision to withhold the latest episodes, which attracted fans to the service after they'd caught up with the show on Netflix. Breaking Bad is now regarded as one of the greatest shows of all time; a show that survived a scary few years at the onset to emerge as a culture-defining hit. And now, another show that began airing on television a year after Breaking Bad ended its run is being discovered by the masses on Netflix.
