While Heidi Klum is holding onto her title as the Queen of Halloween in the States, it’s Maya Jama who takes this distinction on this side of the Atlantic.
Maya’s annual bash has become one of the hottest tickets in town when spooky season comes around, and for this year’s event, she chose to think outside of the box.
And even though she may not have quite made it to the last round of Celebrity Traitors, she certainly made sure her Halloween costume was gold medal-worthy with an homage to Sir Mo Farah.
The Love Island host documented her transformation into the “bald-headed icon” in a “get ready with me” video for Elle UK, explaining: “I chose to be Mo because I’ve wanted to be a man for years for Halloween.
“I was thinking, ‘which man could I actually pass as?’, and obviously he’s Somali, I’m Somali, we get on in real life – it just made sense.”
Maya even revealed that her costume got the thumbs up from the man himself, revealing: “He loved the idea. He’s actually sent me all of his real-life Olympic outfits; his real, actual medals that he won for the Olympics; his real trainers.”
“He is fully on board,” she enthused. “And we are collaborating. But I’m really sad ’cause he can’t actually make the party, so I’m flying the flag for him.”
Sir Mo also gave Maya’s look his personal seal of approval on Instagram, commenting laughing face emojis under her post about her costume.
At the event itself, guests included model Munroe Bergdorf and the host’s fellow Traitor King Kenny, while comedian Katherine Ryan – who previously starred alongside Maya in Netflix’s The Duchess – sported a costume inspired by one of Maya’s most memorable Celebrity Traitors looks.
