Mason Thames Is Nightwing In “Dynamic Duo”?

A new report indicates that “The Black Phone” and “How to Train Your Dragon” star Mason Thames has landed the role of Dick Grayson/Nightwing in the upcoming animated “Dynamic Duo” film at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures.

The theatrical release is said to follow the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, aka the Robins, who at this point in time are orphan thieves who name themselves the ‘dynamic duo’.

A new animation studio out of New Orleans named Swaybox is handling the project, which will be told via ‘Momo Animation’ – a blend of CGI animation, practical elements of stop-motion, and live-action real-time performance.

The InSneider broke the Thames casting news, adding that “The Walking Dead: Dead City” and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” actor Logan Kim will be playing Jason Todd in the film while “Little” and “black-ish” actress Marsai Martin will play Barbara Gordon.

In addition, the report also indicates that an offer is out to Chris Pine for the role of Batman, while Lee Pace will play the leader of the Red Hood gang, who are the main villains.

No official word on the accuracy of the report at present. Arthur Mintz directs “Dynamic Duo” which is set to open in cinemas on June 30th 2028.
