Man of Tomorrow: Superman & Lex Luthor’s DCU Team-Up Movie Gets Fresh New Look

Man of Tomorrow has received another behind-the-scenes look at Superman and Lex Luthor’s team-up. The new artwork comes from the film’s camera department and gives the upcoming DCU project a retro comic-book feel.

Camera operator Chris McGuire shared the artwork on his Instagram Story. The image features Superman and Lex Luthor against a backdrop styled like a vintage Daily Planet comic book cover. The design uses a classic layout that recalls old newspaper comic strips and keeps the movie’s central characters in focus.

Some versions of the artwork also feature playful details tied to the production crew. These include illustrated figures resembling camera operators and specialized filmmaking equipment. The artwork appears to be a camera department piece rather than official promotional material from DC Studios.

What else do we know about Man of Tomorrow?

Man of Tomorrow is directed and written by James Gunn, with David Corenswet returning as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film will bring the two rivals together as they face Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger.

Several details about the movie have already emerged through official updates and production material. Gunn previously shared the first look at Luthor’s green-and-purple warsuit, while set footage showed Corenswet filming as Superman. The director has also said that Clark and Lex are at the core of Man of Tomorrow. Gunn said, “I relate to both of them. I relate to Lex’s ambition and obsession, minus the murder. And I relate to Superman’s belief in people, his Midwestern values.”

The film wrapped its principal photography in August 2026 after shooting across several locations. Gunn confirmed the production wrap on social media, moving the project into post-production ahead of its theatrical release.

Man of Tomorrow is set to hit theaters on July 9, 2027. The film is part of the DCU and follows 2025’s Superman movie, although Gunn has clarified that it is not titled Superman 2.
