Mahershala Ali is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood, and while his new Blade movie may not have worked out, that doesn’t mean he won’t still be around in new movies and TV shows. Ali was first announced as the next Daywalker in a new Blade movie in the MCU in 2019, but after years of development hurdles and creative turnover, both Ali and Kevin Feige have confirmed that the project has officially been cancelled. Ali was fresh off two Oscar wins for his roles in Moonlight and Green Book when Marvel made the announcement, and also scored an Emmy nomination that same year for his powerful performance in the third season of True Detective. Ali’s training for Blade has paid off, though, even if he’ll never get a chance to bring the film to life on the big screen.
