In 2023, comedian and actor Ellie Sachs debuted her incredible short film Proof of Concept at the Tribeca Film Festival, telling a heartwarming and relatable coming-of-age story about a woman who, technically speaking, should be past this stage of her life already. Now, Sachs is back at Tribeca 2026 with her full feature debut, titled Lucy Schulman. The film tells the story of the title character, also played by Sachs, as she goes through something of a quarter-life crisis. Lucy isn’t old, but nor is she in her early 20s anymore; she feels pressure, mostly from within, to settle down with a partner, get a long-term job, and, more broadly, get her life in order.
