‘Lost’ Creator’s 90-Minute ‘Hunger Games’ Meets ‘Knives Out’ Thriller Is Leaving Peacock

Damon Lindelof recently found himself in hot water when old comments he'd made about Green Lanterns' comical costume resurfaced ahead of his somber new take on the material in HBO's Lanterns. For Lindelof, who is best known for co-creating landmark shows such as Lost, The Leftovers, and Watchmen, Lanterns marks a return to the kind of genre storytelling he became associated with two decades ago. With three generation-defining hits on his resume, Lindelof has set a pretty high bar for himself. But Lanterns is the fifth show that he has served as a creator on. There was another that premiered only a few years ago on Peacock, and seems to have run its course after a single season. That show is Mrs. Davis, a sci-fi comedy starring Betty Gilpinas a nun who takes on artificial intelligence. Lindelof and Gilpin first worked together a few years prior to Mrs. Davis, on a movie that generated copious levels of controversy before release, only to be promptly forgotten after it.
