Leah left to die in Hollyoaks as panicked Lucas Hay flees the scene

Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) finds himself public enemy number once more in Hollyoaks next week when Leah Barnes (Charlotte Alex Riley) falls down the steps following a showdown with her brother, who gets the blame.

It’s certainly been an eventful few weeks for Lucas since his return, from admitting to having played a role in the demise of Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) to getting accused of dad Ste’s (Kieron Richardson) disappearance.

In fact, Lucas and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) – along with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) – were prime suspects in the latter mystery.

Lucas, as fans will remember, was jailed after taking Ste hostage following the discovery that his dad had an affair with his son’s ex Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass).

While he’s bot forgiven Ste for such a betrayal, he is keen to turn over a new leaf – but it’s hard to do so when everyone thinks the worst of you. And the accusations continue, with upcoming scenes seeing things take quite a turn.

When we return to the village next week, the situation with Ste’s disappearance has somewhat escalated – and James is adamant that he’s being framed.

Leah, who has proven pretty supportive towards her former stepdad since his return from the ‘dead’, believes him and shares such a thing with Lucas.

Later, they receive a visit from Misbah (Harvey Virdi), Imran (Ijaz Rana) and Gemma Johnson (Tisha Merry), who offer them support.

Imran comforts Leah in her time of need while Gemma can’t help but scowl at Lucas, furious with him over an unexpected secret that they now share.

Leah, meanwhile, overhears a conversation in which Lucas admits to being ‘guilty’ and she is shaken to the core. Horrified, she orders her brother to stay from her but a scuffle ensues and she falls backwards down the steps, much to the horror of Lucas, who watches on.

Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) rushes out Price Slice to see what the commotion is, horrified by the sight before her.

Much like with Ste, it’s not long before the finger is pointed at Lucas, who abruptly flees the scene when Frankie screams for help.

Leah lies at the bottom of the steps unconscious. But will she be okay?

That remains to be seen but Lucas isn’t planning on hanging around to be blamed for something he didn’t do and thus he begs Xander (Indigo Kamal-Poole) to help get him out of the village.

But will he flee?
