Tragedy strikes Coronation Street next week when one resident is mowed down in a hit and run and left in critical condition and, as DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) delves into the case, he makes a horrifying discovery.
Morally-grey copper Kit has been wrapped up in his own dramas of late, between his investigations into potentially corrupt boss, DI Costello (Daon Broni) and his dramas with colleague DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
Reigniting his feud with perennial nemesis David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) ended with him squarely on the backfoot and placed on desk duties.
Though he’s back in the field next week, investigating a potentially deadly hit and run that leaves on Street resident in critical condition.

Beginning as Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) heads out to celebrate her 18th birthday, she takes a moment to stop and leave a couple of voice notes. One for mum Lisa and one for new love interest, Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).
Startled by a loud crash, Betsy lets out a scream as a stolen car smashes into something behind her.
‘She goes out, she’s had a bit of a mard, she’s got herself a bit drunk, she’s just upset, and then all of a sudden, in the same place that she lost Mason, there’s a car hurtling towards her,’ Sydney teased.

At the same time, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) is utterly taken aback by his own run-in with a stolen car, this one driven by Dylan and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), after they steal it on the orders of dodgy Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard)
Surely it can’t be the same one?
As the car that frightened Betsy continues its path of destruction, it smashes into a resident of the street without stopping, leaving them in a critical condition.
As the unlucky victim is taken in to hospital and is prepared undergo a CT scan to check for internal bleeding, the police begin to swarm and investigate the tragic accident.

As Kit visits the family of the victim in the hospital and is questioned as to whether the car involved in the hit and run has been located, he confirms it has.
The only problem? It’s been torched.
Back at square one, the street at large despairs. Who was driving the car? And will the victim survive?
