‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’ sequel will launch in the next 18 months

The next chapter in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series has been given a release window – and it’s sooner than many people were expecting.

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released in 2018 while a sequel followed in 2025. In May, game developers Warhorse Studios announced a “new Kingdom Come adventure” was in the works.

Now Warhorse Studios’ parent company Embracer has confirmed when the new Kingdom Come game will be released. According to a recent report, the title will be released at some point in the next financial year (which runs April 1, 2027 to March 31, 2028).

“Great turnaround time compared to 1 to 2. Seems they’ve mastered their understanding of the game engine and development process,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “Man, I can’t wait for more info on the new game to drop. I’m legit more excited for this than the upcoming Grand Theft Auto,” said another.

It backs up what Warhorse Studios’ communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said during a recent community stream. “If everything goes right, it comes next fiscal year. Which means you don’t have to wait seven years for another Kingdom Come. That is good!”

It’s not known if the new Kingdom Come game will continue the story told across Deliverance 1 and 2 but the new game will also be an “open-world RPG”.

Earlier this year, Warhorse studio head Daniel Vávra stepped down to focus on the Kingdom Come: Deliverance movie adaptation and the studio is also working on a new Lord Of The Rings title. They’ve confirmed the game will be an “open world Middle-earth role-playing game” and they will share more details when the time is “right”.

In other news, a sequel to the hugely popular Hogwarts Legacy has finally been confirmed by Warner Bros. Games but it’s looking like it will drop after HBO’s Harry Potter series, which premieres later this year on Christmas Day.
