Kill Me, the feature debut of writer-director Peter Warren, is a murder mystery that immediately implies that an attempted murder probably didn’t happen. In the opening moments of Kill Me, we find Jimmy (Charlie Day), who wakes up in his bathtub, full of blood and with his wrists cut. As he calls the 911 operator, Margot (Allison Williams), he insists that he didn’t do this, yet we don’t know if this is just hazy confusion from a suicide attempt or if he’s actually telling the truth. It’s hard to believe that this scenario could have been due to someone else’s actions, but Kill Me makes us question whether Jimmy tried to take his own life or if he was “framed” to look like he was trying to kill himself.
