ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive trailer for This Too Shall Pass, the coming-of-age comedy about a teen seeking freedom and self-expression from his Mormon upbringing. This Too Shall Pass is set to release in theaters and digitally on October 24, 2025.

“Simon, 16 and over the rules of his strict Mormon life, heads to Canada with his best friends for a weekend of freedom,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “What starts as a rebellious getaway turns into a funny, eye-opening adventure as they fumble their way through first tastes of independence, unexpected truths, and the messy, magical process of figuring out who they are.”

What happens in the This Too Shall Pass trailer?

The This Too Shall Pass trailer follows the story of Simon, a 16-year-old brought up in a strict Mormon life. The teen rebels by going to Canada with his best friends for a weekend getaway, which quickly turns into a journey of self-discovery.

This Too Shall Pass is written and directed by Rob Grant. The film stars Maxwell Jenkins (Arcadian), Jeremy Ray Taylor, Katie Douglas (Clown in a Cornfield), Jaylin Webb, Nikki Roumel (Ginny & Georgia), Munro Chambers, Chris Sandiford, Aidan Laprete, Ben Cockell, Joanne Kelly, Mark McKinney, Michael Ironside, and Robert Longstreet.

David Hiatt and Michael Peterson are attached as producers on the film. Michael Simon Baker and Jason R. Ellis are executive producers on the project.
