Progressive music masterminds Julian Gray and Adam Stark will invite a producer with a standout track to headline FOUNDRY at SPIN Nightclub.
Rising producers dream of playing a closing set at their favorite clubs. For San Diego artists, that dream could become their reality thanks to FOUNDRY, a new producer-focused event.
Julian Gray and Adam Stark will bring FOUNDRY to SPIN Nightclub on Sunday, September 13. Supported by Trancension, San Diego’s trance music collective, this show will keep progressive music lovers dancing all afternoon and into the evening.
Before the show kicks off, producers can submit a track and hear it on SPIN’s world-class sound system while Julian Gray and Adam Stark listen live and offer feedback.
They will pick one standout track, and the producer earns the closing set of the night and gets to headline SPIN Nightclub, an iconic EDM venue that draws global headliners. There’s no voting campaign or popularity contest. Winners are based on what matters most: the music itself.
“Adam and I have been planning a night at Spin for several months. While planning, we came up with the concept of FOUNDRY to give back to the musicians’ community of San Diego,” Julian Gray said. “We wanted to create an opportunity that we didn’t have when getting started, so we created this contest to offer a memorable show and platform to a new artist in the area. The artist’s best track of the night will close the show, and we’re eager to hear your material.”
Rather than offering an opening slot or a meet-and-greet prize, FOUNDRY flips the format. The winner gets the most coveted set time of the night. This is a chance for emerging producers to hear their music on a proper sound system, receive feedback from established artists, and possibly step behind the SPIN decks alongside the artists who gave them a shot.
Aside from Julian Gray and Adam Stark, FOUNDRY will feature sets from Sysdemes, Compact 33, Kosmocentric, Tluxx, and Zeraph across two stages—SPIN’s scenic rooftop and its sideroom.
Julian Gray is no stranger to San Diego, as he played at SPIN last October alongside Jaytech and Kristina Sky at The After Party, hosted by Lucent. Now, he’s returning with Adam Stark to help elevate the next generation of progressive artists.
Producers can submit their original track through the FOUNDRY Producer Contest Form. All entrants must be ticket holders for the event. Buy presale tickets via Eventbrite, and head to Trancension’s Instagram for the latest updates on FOUNDRY.
