Judger Judy Wants a South Park-Like Series Made by Amy Poehler

Television icon Judge Judy Sheindlin is pitching her next big venture: an animated series in the style of South Park featuring an AI-born character named Baby Judge Judy. And she wants comedy superstar Amy Poehler to write it.

On Good Hang’s latest episode, Judge Judy Sheindlin laid out a visionary plan for her next career ladder. The concept was born from an unauthorized AI-generated YouTube series called Baby Judge Judy, which uses a deepfake baby version of her to reenact cases. Instead of pursuing legal action, the 82-year-old star wants to reclaim the character.

Sheindlin pitched the idea directly to her host, saying, “I want to steal Baby Judge Judy back from A.I…. and then I want to take this character and create a South Park-y” kind of show, so I can Judge Judy kvetch through this character.” She emphasized that the project would require “the right writer” and she explicitly stated that the writer should be Amy Poehler.

Now, this isn’t the first time Sheindlin has floated the idea to Poehler, who seemed both flattered and amused by the persistent pitch, calling it a “genius idea.” However, Poehler didn’t immediately sign on, instead steering the conversation to admire Sheindlin’s relentless drive for new adventures.

Beyond the business case, Judge Judy sees animation as the perfect medium to extend her voice creatively without the constraints of sleeves. She joked about her famous advice to businesswomen to “wear sleeveless as long as you can,” but conceded that time eventually catches up with everyone. “I can’t wear sleeveless anymore,” she said. “That’s why animation is so perfect! Because you still have a voice you’re creating through a fun character.”

Sheindlin’s career has already spanned decades, from her 25-year run on Judge Judy to her newer projects like Judy Justice and Tribunal Justice on Amazon Prime. Most recently, she hosted Justice on Trial. But the potential Baby Judge Judy series could be a whole new creative direction.
