During the April 13 episode of The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart criticized Donald Trump’s comments about the AI-generated Jesus photo. Stewart played a clip of an interview in which a journalist asked the president whether he posted the photo himself. In response, the Republican leader said that he did, believing the image portrayed him as a “doctor making people better.”

“That’s you as a doctor,” Stewart said sarcastically, addressing Trump. He then brought up an image of The Last Supper and asked, “Is that an urgent care? Is that what that is? Why don’t you own it, you big push bag?”

The host continued to address the president and mocked him for allegedly changing his opinion about the post. “God, do you even care about lying to us anymore?” he added animatedly. “Is it over? Is this relationship gone? Your lies used to have a real spark. Now the best you’ve got is, ‘It wasn’t Jesus. I’m a doctor.’”

For context, in a now-deleted post, Trump had shared an AI-generated image in which he appeared to be portrayed as Jesus Christ in a white-and-red robe. Furthermore, Trump’s hand in the image rests on the forehead of a sick person, suggesting he is in the process of healing the man.

In a hilarious twist, the Primetime Emmy-winning host stared at the AI-generated image in utter shock. His reaction came after he realized that the sick man resembled him. After looking at it for a long time, he joked, “Am I okay? Wait, what the f—?”

“I know I don’t have the vigor and spunk of my MTV days, but I didn’t know we were here already,” Stewart continued. “I didn’t realize my look had reached leper territory. From the picture, it looks like it was touch-and-go with me for a while. But thank god, in my time of need, I was surrounded by family.”
