Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has David and Shona Platt (Jack P Shepherd and Julia Goulding) in her control after the shooting in Coronation Street.

Yesterday, Jodie’s plan to take over Shona’s life fell apart when it was revealed that her sister and David had tricked her into revealing how she really felt about them both.

As her desperation increased, Jodie pulled a gun on David and Shona, but they believed the weapon wasn’t real.

Shona tried to grab the gun from her sister which led to them fighting. The weapon went off, and Shona soon discovered that Jodie had been shot.

Jodie was rushed to hospital in today’s episode, but ultimately survived her injuries. While she was in theatre, Shona and David panicked about what to tell the police.

David grew pretty confident with their cover story, certain that without the gun, Jodie wouldn’t actually be able to prove her version of events.

In the hospital room, Jodie told Shona that she knows she intended to kill her.

She then pointed out that she could go along with David and Shona’s cover story but, if they didn’t do what she wanted, she’d tell the police she was blackmailed into keeping quiet.

‘You don’t control this, I do’, Jodie warned.

‘I decide what happens from now on’.

To be honest, she’s got a point. Jodie’s unhinged, but she’s also incredibly smart.

She knows that she’s holding all the power right now, and absolutely intends to take advantage of it.

‘When pushed, you just don’t know what she’s capable of’, star Olivia Frances-Brown said.

‘She has a lot of dark secrets, she’s seen a lot and she has a genuinely sinister side to her. She’s driven herself completely crazy with this huge fantasy. It’s not rooted in reality anymore, she’s completely lost her marbles.’

‘She loves her sister, but she wishes Shona had treated her differently throughout her life. There’s a deep need to get her own back and have some sort of revenge.

‘As much as she cares about their relationship, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get the happiness she feels she deserves.’
