Despite a major setback in the run-up to its release — curiously, this was the second time that such a thing had happened to Jason Statham — the action-thriller Mutiny managed to secure a top-five spot in its box-office debut. Mere days before its release, the film was accidentally uploaded to Prime Video, which made it the target of online pirates who disseminated it on file-sharing sites. Years ago, The Expendables 3 became a victim of a similar leak. That movie, which featured Statham in a major role, ultimately took a hit at the domestic box office, but was successful enough internationally to come out mostly unscathed. The Expendables 3 grossed under $40 million domestically and around $215 million worldwide, a figure that now seems astronomical compared with Mutiny's performance.
