The prolific and unanimously adored directing pair have gone their separate ways in the 2020s, with Joel directing the Shakespeare adaptation, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and Ethan making a pair of "lesbian B-movies" with his partner, Tricia Cooke, Drive-Away Dolls and Honey Don't!, the latter of which just hit theaters in August.With the increasingly mixed reception to each subsequent solo effort, more audiences are clamoring for the brothers to reunite once and for all, with their last collaboration being The Ballad of Buster Scruggs in 2018.
