The PS Store stealth released an interesting PS5 adventure game for free, and you probably missed it. We’re used to seeing free shovelware from unknown studios, but Lost Lands 1: Dark Overlord is a proper game that launched on other platforms before it quietly made its way to the PS Store in early August, and we’re not sure why we didn’t see it until now.
Free PS5 adventure game Lost Lands 1: Dark Overlord has an interesting premise
Lost Lands 1: Dark Overlord combines mini games and puzzles in a gorgeous fantasy setting. It tells the story of a mother who tries to save her son from a mysterious portal that leads to another world.
“Susan had just stepped away to answer the phone, but when she returned, she saw something pulling her son Jimmy through a shimmering portal,” reads a PS Store overview. “To save him, she must find a way to this other world. Before Susan lies a world that no one else has ever seen before… a world where magic is real and anything is possible.”
I’ve never heard of the Lost Lands series before, but a quick Google search led me to quite a few walkthrough videos for this game. Going by feedback from players, Dark Overlord can pose a challenge without a guide, but the general consensus is that it’s a great little free game.
