Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella announced official details about the World Party Parade, which is set to take over the Las Vegas Strip on the Thursday of EDC Week.
In celebration of 30 years of dancing under the electric sky at Electric Daisy Carnival, Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella announced a new first for the festival in 2026: the World Party Parade. This free, massive techno parade was first announced during the Music Through Music Lineup Reveal, which he said he and his team had “wanted to do for a long time.”
Today, Rotella has officially announced that it’s moving forward and will take over the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, May 14.
The World Party Parade is scheduled to start at 6pm, acting as a proper kick-off to the EDC Week parties happening all over Las Vegas. Organizers say the free and open-to-the-public event will feature around 15 floats in packs of three to create five entertainment groups that will travel along the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, beginning and ending at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The parade route is set to pass properties including Circus Circus, Fontainebleau, Resorts World, and the Sahara.
“More than anything, I want people to know that this is for everyone,” Pasquale Rotella said. “Whether you’ve been part of this culture for years or are experiencing it for the first time, you’re welcome here. There’s something really special about coming together through music, it breaks down barriers and reminds us of our shared humanity.”
While it’s happening during EDC Week, this is a standalone event designed to be accessible to the entire community, including those who won’t be attending the festival. Making it open in this way allows more people to experience the energy, positivity, and connection that this culture is all about.
My hope is that people walk away not just entertained, but feeling inspired, connected, and uplifted. That’s what this culture has always been about, and we’re thrilled to share it with the world in such a big way.
The parade is forecast to last about two and a half hours and draw an expected nearly 30,000 attendees. Its 15 art car floats will be accompanied by performers, entertainers, and marching bands before returning to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds near Circus Circus for a party lasting a few hours and featuring special sets by artists. The DJs who will rock those art cars as they come down the Las Vegas Strip for Insomniac’s first massive rave parade and afterparty are yet to be revealed.
“Pasquale came up with the idea; he had his staff reach out to us, and it seems to fit. It’s a good time of the year, and it’s a good day of the week, and the plan so far looks perfect,” Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom said in an interview with EDM Identity. On Tuesday, March 17, the Clark County Commission voted to approve the large techno parade.
“That’s what we do! We do the Super Bowl, we’re going to do the College Football Championship next year,” Segerblom continued. “We’re into big events! So, if anyone wants to do it, reach out to us, and we will bend over backward to make it happen. Heads in beds is what we try to do and have fun.”
The event will require a road closure on the Strip, which was noted during the commission meeting to have “the potential to cause disorder, disturbances, excessive loitering, nuisances at or near Las Vegas Boulevard.” A presentation from the Insomniac team at the meeting outlined that the parade will be family friendly, not just a “fourth day of EDC.” The parade is intended to serve as a separate event with its own identity.
Whatever “nuisances” it may bring, the hospitality industry shared that they, too, are prepared for it and welcome the exciting new addition to this summer’s activities on the Las Vegas Strip.
“The numbers show that there is a decline in tourism, I mean, of course, there is, when there’s so much chaos and instability around the country and perpetuated by this administration,” said Bethany Khan, the Director of Communications & Digital Strategy for UNITE HERE Culinary Workers Union Local 226.
“Really excited to always host big events! Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world,” Khan continued. “As an EDM fan myself, I’m excited, and so we can wait to see all of the great tourists in Las Vegas and have a great time, get world-class service, and tip the hospitality workers that they see providing world-class service.”
As EDC Las Vegas inches closer, excitement for the 30th-anniversary celebration continues to mount. This year’s edition of the festival will feature a world-class lineup that includes artists such as Seven Lions, Paul Van Dyk, Frankie Bones, Tiësto, Kaskade, John Summit, Charlotte de Witte, and FISHER.
