As someone apprehensive toward Metroidvanias, Hollow Knight: Silksong's initial announcement years ago didn't excite me as much as it did others. However, as the hype continued to grow, I still avoided playing the original Hollow Knight, not expecting it would be something I might enjoy. With the fever pitch of Silksong's release date, I finally gave the original game a longer try, and it changed my opinion for the better.
