House of the Dragon proved to be a really solid return to the Game of Thrones universe in its first season, as we finally find out the nitty gritty of what happened a couple of centuries before the Night King's arrival. The characters are memorable, and the story is solid, though it does feel like it has lost a little momentum as the seasons have worn on.
