Donald Trump has been condemned for posting an AI video of him wrestling a tiger that killed a man at a zoo in Yorkshire.

The US president had earlier shared footage of the animal attacking William Chapman at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Saturday with the comment: “Don’t ever mess with nature!”

Shortly afterwards, Trump uploaded an AI-created clip of him apparently recreating the incident.

It shows the tiger initially standing over the president, who remonstrates with it before getting up, chasing the animal and wrestling it to the ground.

As ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ plays in the background, Trump and the tiger then hug each other.

The bizarre clip sparked fresh condemnation of the president online.

Trump posted this video to his Truth Social, just days after a man was mauled to death by a tiger at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

The disrespect and lack of empathy displayed here are astonishing. Making fun of such a tragic incident is abhorrent. What a sick video!

This isn’t amusing. The young man lost his life and his family are mourning and Trump makes it all a joke.

He mocks the misfortune of a disabled person who was torn apart by the animal; this is repugnant.

William Chapman, a former child actor, jumped into the tiger’s enclosure on Saturday afternoon.

He uploaded a short video to his Instagram account showing him approaching the animal as it rested on a plinth.

In a statement, his family said he was “a bright, warm and engaging young man” who had suffered from “significant mental illness over a number of years”.

“The family are utterly devastated by their loss and are struggling to come to terms with what has happened,” they said.

The family also condemned the sharing of footage of the incident taken by an eyewitness.

They said: “The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing them severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time. We ask people to stop doing this.”
