Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd‘s iconic comedy movie locks its re-release date with new trailer. The film is directed by David Wain and originally came out over two decades ago.

What Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd movie is coming back to theaters?

Wet Hot American Summer, a famous comedy movie featuring Cooper and Rudd, among others, will get a re-release this year. Ahead of its 25th anniversary, Focus Features dropped a trailer to hit fans with nostalgia and make them go back to the old days.

The official description for Wet Hot American Summer reads, “It’s the last day of Camp Firewood’s season, but there’s still time for the big talent show, a little romance… and for everyone to be wiped out by the piece of NASA’s Skylab that’s hurtling toward Earth.”

Regarded as one of the most influential cult comedies of all time, Wet Hot American Summer was co-written by director Wain and Michael Showalter. While it didn’t earn much admiration from critics, audiences loved it. This is reflected in its 75% Popcornmeter score compared to a 39% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. While it made little impact at the box office, the film has since built a huge following over the years.

The ensemble cast also featured Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Molly Shannon, Christopher Meloni, and Michael Ian Black. Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Ken Marino, Joe Lo Truglio, and Michael Showalter also played crucial roles.

Alongside fans who grew up watching the cult classic, a new generation of moviegoers will now get a rare chance to experience Wet Hot American Summer on the big screen.

Wet Hot American Summer will receive its 25th Anniversary re-release beginning August 14, 2026. The limited run will last till August 21, 2026.

Focus Features will also partner with Street Food Cinema and Alamo Drafthouse to organize fan-focused event screenings and special engagements.
