Heath Ledger's early career as an actor in Australia led him to overnight success once the talented performer landed in Hollywood. In 1997, after years of small roles in different Australian TV programs, Ledger landed his first film role in the Australian film, Blackrock. Then, in 1999, Ledger's big break came in the form of the romantic lead in the Hollywood teenage rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You, while also filming the acclaimed Australian crime film Two Hands that same year. His early success was a mark of his impressive emotive skills, and as the young actor gained confidence on set, he quickly became one of America's favorite leading men.
