Harry Potter’s Fan-Favorite Movie Star Discusses ‘Fabulous’ Honor to Reprise Role in TV Show

A fan-favorite Harry Potter film star is finally opening up. He’s coming clean about his true feelings on being asked to reprise his iconic role in the upcoming TV show.

Speaking to the Press Association, Warwick Davis discussed being asked to “come back and play” his beloved character Professor Filius Flitwick for the series. He called it “a huge honour,” per the Somerset County Gazette.

“This place is super familiar to me because I worked on the films for over 11 years, and I’ve worked constantly since then with the team at the studio tour in Watford as well,” Davis said. “So Harry Potter has become part of my professional life since the late 90s throughout until now. So it’s a constant. It’s fabulous.”

What else did Warwick Davis say about the Harry Potter TV show?

During the interview, Davis also teased about the upcoming Harry Potter reboot TV show. He said, “I’m excited to retell these stories because they’re fantastic stories.” At the same time, he played coy, saying, “But I can’t tell you anything about the series yet because it’s all very top secret.”

Besides this, the actor also opened up about his character: “That character has been one of my favourite characters to play in my career. He’s a very warm, kind of likeable character, as far as I’m concerned.”

Davis also confessed, “I actually based him a lot on some of my teachers. He’s the kind of teacher you could say you’d forgotten your homework and they wouldn’t mind, they’d say, ‘OK, don’t do it again, but don’t worry about it for now.'”

The actor then described the world of The Boy Who Lived as something of a “constant” in his professional life. He said, “For me as an actor, being involved with the Star Wars franchise for so many years and now the Harry Potter world franchise, it’s a terrific honour.”

The Harry Potter TV Series will premiere on December 25, 2026, on HBO and Max.
