Graham Greenewas an outstanding actor whose trailblazing work helped promote positive Indigenous representation on both the big and small screen. Although Greene got his breakout role when his performance in the Best Picture winner Dances With Wolvesearned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, he continued to have notable parts in many popular films of the next decade. Greene had a pivotal role as the death row inmate Arlen Bitterbuck in The Green Mile, which was the second ever Stephen Kingadaptation to be nominated for Best Picture. Although it is a film that is filled with great performances, Greene delivers several powerful monologues that perfectly crystalizes the magic of King’s writing.
