Dancing With the Stars professional Gleb Savchenko has filed new court documents in an escalating custody battle with his ex-wife, Elena Samodanova, alleging that their 15-year-old daughter was given weight-loss medication without proper medical oversight. The filing, submitted on October 13, 2026, marks a significant shift in the pair’s legal dispute, moving from disagreements over international residency to serious allegations concerning the physical and emotional welfare of their children.
According to the reported court filings, Savchenko claims that Samodanova administered the weight-loss pills to their eldest daughter, Olivia, without his knowledge or input. He further alleges that his ex-wife made derogatory comments regarding the teenager’s body, weight, and general appearance. The documents also describe disciplinary measures Savchenko characterizes as harmful, including “prolonged periods of silent treatment” and the physical removal of the daughter’s bedroom door as a form of punishment.
The recent filing describes specific disciplinary measures that Savchenko claims were harmful to his daughter.
The DWTS pro is currently seeking a “conduct order” from the court. Rather than focusing solely on changing primary residency at this stage, the request asks a judge to prohibit both parents from engaging in behavior that could be detrimental to the children’s physical or emotional health.
From Residency Disputes to Health Allegations
The legal friction between the former couple has intensified over the last several months. While their divorce was finalized in 2021, the current conflict stems from a 2023 agreement that allowed Samodanova to move to Hong Kong with their two daughters, Olivia and Zlata, for what was intended to be a temporary period.
In July 2026, Savchenko filed an emergency order claiming that Samodanova had breached that agreement by refusing to return the children to the United States by a June 2024 deadline. At that time, Savchenko sought sole custody, alleging that the children were effectively being kept in Hong Kong against the terms of their arrangement. Samodanova has previously maintained that Hong Kong is the children’s legal home and where they are currently enrolled in school.
The newest allegations regarding medication and body-shaming represent a more personal turn in the litigation. While Samodanova has not yet issued a formal response to the October 13 claims, she has historically denied allegations of misconduct, including prior claims regarding her communication with her children.
The situation remains complex due to the international nature of the dispute. According to reporting from The Economic Times, the legal battle has seen months of litigation involving both California courts and international residency protocols. The court has not yet ruled on Savchenko’s request for the conduct order or the specific allegations regarding the daughter’s health care.
