Ghost of Yotei PS5 File Size Seems Reasonable

The file size for Sucker Punch’s upcoming open-world samurai game, Ghost of Yotei, has been revealed. Although it may be fairly large, the file size isn’t unlike that of other games of the same scope.

What is the Ghost of Yotei PS5 file size?

According to the X (formerly Twitter) account PlayStation Game Size, Ghost of Yotei version 01.002.000 is 85.119 GB. This is fairly standard for games of this size and graphical fidelity. Similarly, the recently released Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is also open-world and features incredibly detailed environments and characters, was in the low 90 GB on PS5.

In comparison to its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, the difference in file size is quite substantial. As of this writing, the Ghost of Tsushima PS5 file size is 59.185 GB. So, there is nearly a 30 GB difference. Specifically, it’s a 25.934 GB difference. It should be noted that these games are five years apart. Surely, Ghost of Yotei will take advantage of the PS5 and PS5 Pro’s tech that will justify the larger file size.

Although it is not a direct sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei is the next entry in the PlayStation-exclusive series. Set during the Edo period, players will play as Atsu (played by Erika Ishii) as she goes on a revenge mission to kill the people who murdered her family.

Ghost of Yotei will launch for PS5 on October 2, with pricing starting at $69.99. There is a Digital Deluxe Edition available for $79.99 that includes a few extra goodies along with the base game. Players can preorder the game now on the PS Store.

PS5 players who are extra excited for Ghost of Yotei can preorder themed consoles and DualSense controllers right now. However, the PS5 Pro covers, which are the first Sony has sold, sold out soon after they went live.
