One of Quentin Tarantino's favorite movies of 2026 is The Rip, starring Ben Affleckand Matt Damon. The movie was released on Netflix in January, and it went on to amass more than 135 million views thanks to mostly positive reviews. Even though the film didn't get a theatrical release, Tarantino praised it for reminding him of the cop movies he grew up on in the 1970s and 1980s. In a piece for Sight and Sound magazine, Tarantino praised The Rip as "an exciting cop thriller with a novel premise that manages to deliver the goods in really clever ways." The movie was directed by Joe Carnahan, who recently made a crime film that drew heavily from the work of Tarantino.
