Sebastian Roché and Marc Anthony Samuel — the actors who once played General Hospital’s Jerry Jacks and Felix DuBois, respectively — paired up as a father-son duo for a charity reading of a lost Brady Bunch-adjacent episode. Let us explain…
Staged at Dynasty Typewriter at the Hayworth Theatre, a comedy venue in Los Angeles, CA, the GH alums were part of an all-star cast that assembled on August 17 to perform “The Bradys — The Lost Episode: A Very Brady Funeral.” The never-filmed episode was supposed to be the sixth installment of The Bradys, the 1990s drama reboot of the beloved 1970s comedy The Brady Bunch, but the sequel series was scrapped after just five episodes.
Keep ‘Em Laughing
The script was very serious — patriarch Mike Brady was killed off in a helicopter crash — but the staged charity performance was full of laughs thanks to the cast members who brought the famous TV family to life. Melissa Peterman (Reba, Happy’s Place) led the pack as Carol Brady, with Jack Plotnick (Reno 911!) as the Ghost of Robert Reed/Mike Brady. Roché’s wife, Alicia Hannah-Kim (Cobra Kai), took on the part of eldest daughter Marcia, with Rachel Bay Jones (Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage) as Jan and Kristen Vangsness (Wizards Beyond Waverly Place) as Cindy. As for the Brady sons, Juan Pablo Di Pace (Dallas, Fuller House) played Greg, drag superstar Trixie Mattel (RuPaul’s Drag Race) portrayed Peter, and Tom Lenk (American Horror Stories) played Bobby.
Roché and Samuels performed supporting roles during the reading, which was presented by Lenk, Plotnick, Richard Day, and Jim Hansen. “My stage father,” Samuels captioned a selfie with Roché shared in an Instagram Story.
In an Instagram Story of his own, Roché raved that he had “So much fun doing this hilarious reading with these ridiculously talented people.” Commenting on a post shared by one of the other actors involved, Brooke Seguin, Hannah-Kim chimed in, “My face hurts from laughing.”
The show, which was also livestreamed, benefitted CHIRLA, The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, which focuses on the Los Angeles community, and Chrysalis, a Southern California agency that provides employment services for low-income and homeless adults.
GH viewers will remember Samuel as Felix, the hospital nurse who was once in a short-lived love triangle with Lucas Jones and Brad Cooper. Samuels has been playing Felix on and off since 2012; he most recently appeared in January 2024 to attend Bobbie Spencer’s memorial service. As for Roché, he took over the role of Jax’s villainous brother from Julian Stone in 2007 and though he exited in 2010, he returned for appearances in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. During his last stint, Jerry was sent to Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison after being arrested by Robert and Anna for his part in holding their daughter, Robin, prisoner on Cassadine Island. But it was revealed in 2019 that Jerry had escaped the high-security international penitentiary, so who knows if he might pop up in Port Charles again — especially since he’s an associate of Britt’s parents, Cesar Faison and Liesl Obrecht!
