Explosive Extraction 3 Set Photos Show Chris Hemsworth vs. Idris Elba vs. Pierce Brosnan

It might still be a while before Extraction 3 comes out on Netflix. However, the hype around the Chris Hemsworth-led threequel continues to build as new set photos tease the Thor star’s potential confrontation with Idris Elba and Pierce Brosnan.

New Extraction 3 set photos show Chris Hemsworth and more

Brand-new photos from the Extraction 3 set show several members of the star-studded cast in action. Hemsworth, Elba, and Brosnan were reportedly filming an explosive action sequence when these photos were taken. In one of the images, Hemsworth and Elba are pointing their guns at each other.

Notably, Elba previously appeared in Extraction 2, portraying an enigmatic character credited as Alcott, who recruits Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake, a mercenary, for a new mission. The pair have also worked together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Brosnan, on the other hand, will make his debut in the franchise with this movie.

The plot of the movie remains under wraps. Sam Hargrave, who helmed the first two movies, will direct this one as well. Joe Russo wrote the first two movies based on the graphic novel Ciudad. He’s teaming up with screenwriter David Weil for the screenplay of the third film.

Aside from Hemsworth and Elba, Golshifteh Farahani is returning in Extraction 3 as Nik Khan. The film’s cast also includes Don Lee, Joe Taslim, and Chi Lewis-Parry.

Extraction and Extraction 2 came out in 2020 and 2023, respectively. Both movies received mostly positive responses from critics and drew considerable viewership on Netflix, which paved the way for the third movie. Back in August 2025, Hemsworth noted that his “inner Tyler Rake” was getting “restless.” He added, “That’s [Extraction 3] something we are working on, yeah.”

Eventually, Hemsworth announced in July 2026 that production on Extraction 3 had begun, sharing photos with Elba and Hargrave on social media.

At the time of this article’s composition, Extraction 3 doesn’t yet have an official release date on Netflix.
