He frequently criticised gun control, abortion, Islam, LGBTQ+ rights, among other demographics and topics, during his debates with liberals on college campuses or viral YouTube videos.

Kirk, a gun-owner, was addressing the subject of gun violence when he was fatally shot.

Authorities have said they found a palm print on the rooftop and a shoe impression.

He is believed to be a white man, but so far no name has been released to the public.

The FBI is offering a £75,000 reward for any information which leads to the suspect being arrested.

So far, the agency has received 7,000 tips from the public.

What was the shooter wearing?

Images of the suspected shooter show him wearing Converse trainers, jeans, a long-sleeved black T-shirt with an American eagle on it, dark sunglasses and a black baseball cap with a triangle.

What rifle did the shooter use?

A hunting rifle was found in nearby woods where the attacker is believed to have fled.

FBI special agent Robert Bohls described the weapon as ‘a high-powered, bolt-action rifle’, which is known for its precision.

It is reported to be an imported Mauser .30-06 bolt-action rifle.

The Wall Street Journal said the gun was engraved with transgender expressions and antifascist ideology.
