The Sergio Leone movie you're probably most likely to have seen is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. That one might well be the best, or at least you can understand why it’s the most iconic. The Sergio Leone movie you're second most likely to have seen… uh, that’s a bit harder to guess. It’s something that isn't The Colossus of Rhodes, which was his directorial debut. That movie came out in 1961, and it’s kind of understandable why few people know about it. It’s not very good, and Sergio Leone’s style doesn’t really shine through. It took until the Dollars trilogy for him to become recognized as a director, with the aforementioned The Good, the Bad and the Ugly being the final movie in that trilogy, even if it’s possible that it takes place before A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More chronologically.
