Filming for the first season of HBO's Harry Potter wrapped up in May 2026 in preparation for that highly anticipated Christmas Day premiere. Of course, this is our second time through this process, since Warner Bros turned Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone into a movie back in 2001. At that time, various locations across the UK were used to layer the Wizarding world on top of our own. Now, HBO is approaching the same story in a variety of new ways, though that does mean returning to many of the same locations.
