Calling all Georgies and Greggs sausage roll lovers! The ultimate crossover is about to land… or should we say, take off.
Budget airline easyJet has announced a brand new collaboration with the bakery chain to celebrate the opening of its new base in Newcastle.
As such, Greggs and easyJet are teaming up to bring sausage rolls to plane passengers, and there will be some weird and wonderful limited-edition dipping sauces to try too.
And the best part? They’ll be completely free to enjoy.
But there is a rather big catch…
The sausage rolls will only be available on easyJet international flights departing from Newcastle for a very limited time – one day only, to be precise.
All those jetting off on holiday today (March 23) are in for a treat, as cabin crew will be offering a free limited-edition trolley service, featuring the beloved pastries and dipping sauces.
But if you’re flying after March 23, we’re sorry to say you’ll have missed out.
Alongside the sausage rolls, there are five sauces to choose from, all inspired by easyJet holiday destinations, such as Italy, France, Tunisia, Spain and Turkey.
Flavours include Silky Affogato with deep roasted coffee, cocoa and vanilla bean, Tarte Tatin which has notes of caramelised apple, cinnamon and thyme, Spicy Harissa Ketchup that’s ‘sweet and spicy’, Snappy Sangria combining red wine, orange and cranberry, and Saucy Kebab featuring lemon, vinegar and smoky paprika.
Honestly, not sure how to feel about dipping a sausage roll into some of those, but perhaps it’s a case of don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it, eh?
Do you think easyJet should add sausage rolls to the onboard service permanently?
If you’re not boarding a flight, don’t worry, as there will be a few other chances for those in Newcastle to get their hands on free sausage rolls and dips.
As well as the onboard trolley service, cabin crew will also be serving up a taste of their new destinations in the city centre.

Garry Wilson, easyJet holidays CEO, said: ‘We’re thrilled to be launching a new base in Newcastle, driven by the strong demand for our flights and package holidays in the region. This is a major milestone for us, so partnering with Greggs, a true Geordie icon and one of the city’s most famous exports, felt like the perfect way to celebrate our arrival.
‘Offering sausage rolls onboard and out in the streets is our way of thanking the North East as we continue to make travel from their local airport easy and affordable.’
Where is easyJet flying from Newcastle?
The new base at Newcastle International Airport will be home to three easyJet aircraft, offering 86 flights per week to 22 destinations across Europe and North Africa, including new routes taking off from today to Antalya, Corfu, Dalaman, Enfidha, Faro, Lisbon, Malta, Prague, Reus, Rhodes, Rome, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Nice and Tenerife.
Newcastle is easyJet’s 11th UK base opening, following the launch of London Southend Airport last year and Birmingham in 2024.
The new base provides over 800,000 seats for customers to choose from when planning their getaway for the summer, with packages including flights and hotel, as well as 23kg luggage and transfers on beach breaks.
