Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) are really struggling to resist each other in EastEnders. They know it’s wrong – but that’s probably what makes it so good.
Friendly reminder that Zack is Sharon Watts’ (Letitia Dean) half-brother, and Sharon is the adoptive half-sister of Vicki. They’re not technically related, but it still gives me and plenty of other EastEnders fans the ick.
Amid her attempt at ignoring Zack, Vicki has turned her attention back to Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) and reunited with him.
When Ross unexpectedly proposed recently, Vicki came clean about sleeping with someone else, but managed to keep Zack’s name out of the picture – although her brother Mark Fowler Jr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) later learned about their night of passion.
As Ross and Vicki’s wedding looms, she cannot help but make the odd glance over at Zack. She’ll have to choose one path eventually, but will it be with Ross, or Zack? Star Alice Haig recently gave her thoughts and confirmed who she thinks Vicki belongs with.
‘I think Ross and Vicki are genuinely made for each other, there’s so much mutual love there’, the star said.
‘Vicki does find Zack irresistible, but ultimately, I think Ross is the person she truly belongs with. It’s so messy with Zack – there’s the whole Sharon factor, and everything about them being together just feels a bit wrong.
‘On top of that, he’s got quite a shady track record with women, and not just one or two, it’s multiple. But the most important thing is Ross. Vicki adores him, she loves the bones of him. Even at their lowest ebb, she never truly doubts that she loves Ross.’
In upcoming episodes, Vicki and Ross are busy arguing about Joel Marshall (Max Murray), Ross’ incel son who went to prison for attacking Vicki.
‘Leading up to their hen and stag do’s, Ross has heard that Joel is going to be sentenced soon’, Alice explained.
‘The news immediately triggers Vicki, who starts worrying about what this will mean for her – particularly the matter of where Joel will live when he eventually gets out. Ross and Vicki then quickly realise they’re not on the same page and head off to their parties feeling incredibly conflicted.’
The star sighed: ‘Vicki loves Ross and desperately wants their relationship to work. But Ross will always be Joel’s dad, and although they’ve able to brush the issue aside whilst Joel is away, the reality of the future begins to resurface. Vicki starts to think more seriously about the future – and about Joel potentially being part of it.

‘The thought of sharing a home with Joel again leaves her feeling deeply anxious. It throws everything into doubt: she wants nothing more than to marry Ross, but she can’t see a future that includes Joel.’
At Vicki’s hen-do, she finds a quiet moment with Zack outside and kisses him. A few days later, Vicki receives a text with a picture confirming that someone knows about them kissing.
Revealing the panic Vicki’s in, Alice told us: ‘She’s only just decided that whatever mistakes she made, whatever chemistry there is with Zack, Ross is the person she wants. He’s the man she should marry. And it’s right at that precise moment, when she finally knows where her heart is, that the text arrives.
‘She’s reached a point where she feels like she has no options left. She realises what’s happened and decides she’s going to come clean, and, in truth, that would have been the better choice.
‘If she’d told Ross then and there, there would have been no secrets between them, and maybe they could have worked through it together.’
